Seven people have been killed and seven others are in critical condition after a horror crash on the N6 Road near Queenstown this afternoon.
Hyundai minibus and an Avanza collided head on around 2pm on the highway just 5kms from Queenstown.
Police spokeswoman Warrant Officer Namhla Mdleleni said the Avanza caught fire upon crash.
Four passengers were burnt beyond recognition while two others died outside the Avanza. One person who was travelling on the Hyundai minibus was also declared dead on the scene.
Seven people travelling in the Hyundai were rushed to Frontier Hospital in critical condition.
The one lane of N6 Road was closed for an hour as emergency personnel worked the scene.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
