Proudly South African wants racists arrested.
Proudly South African has called on a boycott of racist establishments and custodial sentences for racists.

This follows recent reports of several racially motivated incidents in South Africa – the latest involving the owner of a KwaZulu-Natal guest house who has allegedly banned black people and government employees from his lodge.

“Any establishment which prohibits entry on the grounds of race‚ whether black or white‚ must be boycotted on a national level and its trading license should be revoked‚” Proudly SA Chief Marketing Officer‚ Happy maKhumalo Ngidi‚ said.

“We will not tolerate that type of thinking in South Africa‚ irrespective of the perpetrator’s race or position in society.”

Ngidi said ambiguous forms of apology and fines are not good enough. “Perpetrators of racism need to be taught a profound lesson and that’s why we are calling for custodial sentences‚” she said.

In the latest incident that involves racism‚ Sodwana Bay Guest House Andre Slade turned down a booking from a woman on the basis that she was black.

The lodge sent her an email which read: “Hi. We do not accommodate black people or government employees any longer“.

Meanwhile‚ Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi on Thursday visited a pre-school in Pretoria which found itself in hot water for allegedly segregating a black toddler from her white mates.
