Bulldogs can flex muscles in EL clash

FORMER Border Bulldogs scrumhalf Ntando Kebe is looking forward to turning things around for his current team when the Bulldogs host Boland at the Buffalo City Stadium tomorrow night.

The must-win clash, for both sides, marks the return of Kebe and former Bulldogs lock forward Ben Venter to the Buffalo City Stadium.

The Bulldogs, who came agonisingly close against Free State in last weekend’s 26-25 loss, are still searching for their first win of the campaign and will be out to turn the tide.

Boland this season have also struggled to find form and Kebe hopes they can turn things around in East London.

“I’m really looking forward to the game. The whole team is looking forward to the game.

“We haven’t had a good start to the season and we need to get back to winning ways in the last couple of games and finish well.”

Boland started the season with a hard-fought draw against defending champions Western province before registering their first win 27-23 against Free State.

Then, AB Davids’ men lost three in a row to South Western Districts (44- 12), Pampus XV (65-23) and recently to the Sharks XV (54-24).

Kebe reaffirmed the game won’t be easy as the Bulldogs look to pick up their first win of the campaign.

“There’s a lot in the game for both sides and we will be going for nothing but full points.

“It’s definitely not going to be easy because the Bulldogs are also looking for the win ,” added Kebe.

Since his contract expired at the end of October and was not renewed , the consistent scrumhalf was snatched up by Boland, together with Venter, and signed a year-long contract.

This season Kebe has started every game for Boland save for last weekend’s loss to the Sharks XV where he was rested.

After a fruitless five games, the 24- year-old is still looking for his first try of the season since joining Boland.

The former Dale College star felt he is settling down well at Boland.

“I haven’t felt this good when playing rugby in a while ... All I’m focused on is adding my value to the team and play to the best of my ability to help my team to try and win every game we play,” concluded Kebe.

The SuperSport televised clash is schedule to get under way at 5pm.
