Will Border Bulldogs follow in the footsteps of the Boland Kavaliers on Friday night when they meet Free State?

The answer rests at the Buffalo City Stadium where Border will look to emulate Boland who clobbered the Free State side by 24-17 just last weekend.

But it is going to be a lot more tougher for Bulldogs who meet an angry Free State who are still leaking wounds from the Boland defeat.

The visitors will be out in full strength to avoid a second successive defeat, especially one against Bulldogs.

Free State already tested their superiority against Border when they beat them in a friendly match just before the start of the qualifiers.

This should provide reason for the East London-based Eastern Cape outfit to seek revenge.

Not only that, Border have to win this one to at least end the season on a high given that they have been struggling of late.

Although Free State lie sixth on the log-standings, they are there for the beating for they have been blowing hot and cold with six losses recorded thus far.

A win for the visiting side will see them remain exactly where they are while one for the hosts lift them up from 12th to 10th place depending on other results over the weekend.

For Bulldogs who have already failed to qualify for the Premier Division, all that is left for is pride and a dignified finish as the qualifiers season officially wraps up this weekend.
