School rugby action reaches fever pitch today as the 2016 Coca Cola Craven Week and 2016 Academy Week come to an end with the final day of action battled out across Durban today.

The four Border teams in action will all be looking to save some face after a terrible week so farhas only seen the main Academy team claim a win.

Border has a proud history of schoolboy rugby and holds their teams to high standards, so it has really been a humbling week of rugby so far and a final day of wins would be the best way to end a poor week.

“It has been a difficult week for Border Schools’ rugby and the guys want to finish well,” said Border School’s rugby spokesman Mongezi Mncono.

“They are very motivated, they know they have not played well this week and they want to finish with a win.”

The Border Craven week side will be looking for a big result against Boland as they look to make amends after two disappointing losses against the Bulls and South Western Districts (SWD) earlier.

In both those matches Border showed they were more than capable of beating their opposition but basic errors and problems with their set pieces cost them.

They will want to fix these mistakes against Boland and make sure of a win against a side who have also lost both of their games but were competitive against both Western and Eastern Province.

It should thus be a cracking match with both sides desperate not to end the week without a win.

“This is going to be a very exciting game. Both teams will be fighting for the win. Boland are a big physical team and Border will have to match them,” said Mncono.

The Border Academy week side will want to close out their week with a bang after slipping up in their second match of the week.

They started the week with a confident win over Griquas Rural and then were leading against the Sharks at half time of their second match but then imploded in the second half going down 40-25.

Playing against SWD who have also won one and lost one so far, Border will want to redeem themselves and claim a good win to finish with a positive win ratio.

“The team did well in their first match and unfortunately lost against the Sharks when they were ahead, so it will be a good thing to for them to win the last game and finish with two wins out of three,” admitted Mncono.

Both Border Country Districts teams on the Craven and Academy week side will be playing against Griquas Rural and with all four sides having not won a match yet this week it will be all about who can get that valuable win.

Today's action will see the Craven week teams out in force at Kearsney College while the Academy sides will finish their week at Glenwood.

The Border CD Academy team against the GWK Griquas Rural side and the Border U18 Academy team against the SWD U18 Academy matches will both kick off at 9am this morning.

The Border vs Boland Craven week match kicks off at 8.50am this morning, while the Border Country versus Griquas Rural matchgets under way at 9.35am. Only the Lions vs Western Province match will be televised live today.
