State incentive saves textile jobs

ARENOWNED East London textile company once on the brink of collapse has been saved.

Da Gama Textiles MD Kevin Wright said the firm, which has had to lay off thousands of workers over the past 10 years, has been able to stop retrenchments after receiving millions worth of capital through the Department of Trade and Industry’s productivity incentives programme (PIP).
