An Eastern Cape election presiding officer died on Monday night.
Thanduxolo Ndamase was the presiding officer of a Lusikisiki voting station.
Electoral Commission’s spokesman Kate Bapela said Ndamse failed to report for duty on the first day of special voting (on Monday).
“He had not been on duty yesterday due to ill-health. The Electoral Commission expresses its condolences to the family of Mr Thanduxolo Ndamase,” said Bapela.
