‘Showstoppers’ at Alexander Playhouse

DRAMSOC’s show Showstoppers is back due to popular demand, for one night only. Come along to Alexander Playhouse for an 80s evening filled with sing-along hits, accompanied by East London rock group Arockalypse this Friday from 7pm. Tickets from Lee Gold Music (043) 735-1412 at R90.

Acoustic treat

ANCIENT Agents are on a two-week tour of South Africa and perform at the Stirling Auditorium in East London on Wednesday, February 1. With musical influences from Africa, India and Scandinavia, this quartet combines traditional rhythms and contemporary harmonies to produce a richly textured acoustic world beat that crosses genres, borders and time signatures. Reza Khota’s (SA) guitar, bassist Schalk Joubert (SA) and Fredrik Gille (Sweden) and Ronan Skillen (Ireland) on percussion. Tickets for the show, which starts at 7pm, are R100 per person.
