Platinum-selling duo the Jaziel Brothers kicks off their national tour at The Venue@Hemingways, East London, this weekend.

Brothers Luthando and Ntobeko Ngcizela made their debut in the music industry in 2006 and are known for songs such as Ngeke Ndiphinde, Gumba, Nonceba and Ndikhokhele Bawo featuring Jub Jub.

On Saturday, they will give their East London fans an opportunity to jam with them as they sing their well-known hits and some new tunes.

Not only are they songwriters and singers, the two are also well-known producers, having worked with the likes of DJ Cndo, Big Nuz and other artists in the Afrotainment stable.

Speaking to the Daily Dispatch yesterday, the Mount Fletcher born brothers said they were excited to be bringing their performance to the Eastern Cape.

“We thought it would only be right for us to start where we receive the most support. Eastern Cape people love and support us and we are grateful,” said Luthando.

He said their new songs from their 2016 album, Out of the Box, have been well received by the public. The album was nominated for Metro FM Awards and Samas this year.

“We go to shows thinking that we will be introducing the new songs but people already know them.

“This shows that people are not buying singles but the whole album and they are enjoying the music,” he said, adding that the reception to their new music was amazing.

Luthando said the tour was inspired by their desire to connect with their supporters.

“It’s not often that musicians do tours. We always wait for big festivals, as much as it’s great performing in them, we don’t get to share all our music. This time people will get to know us and see our stage setup,” he said.

The duo celebrated a decade in the music industry last year. Out of the Box is their third album, which they said was about growth, from both quality and content of their music.

They said they have pushed boundaries on this album and were happy to see that people were loving their sound.

Luthando said people will get to hear new and old tracks.

“They will hear all their favourite songs, straight from the beginning of our music career,” he said.

Tickets for the show cost R150 and are available at Computicket.

Doors to the venue will open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. — poliswap@dispatch.co.za
