The bash, which kicks off on New Year’s Eve and continues into 2018, will take place at the Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium.

It is being organised by LGVN Events and will feature well-known musicians like Zakes Bantwini, Sands, Jaziel Brothers, Emtee, Revolution and La Sauce, to mention a few.

One of the show’s organisers, Luyolo Beku, said over the past three years, the event had grown tremendously and would be moving to a bigger venue.

It was previously held at the Buffalo City Stadium.

“Because of the number of people the event has attracted over the past three years, Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium will now be our official venue,” Beku said.

He said the show would have an impressive lineup as it featured all music genres to ensure all music lovers were well served on the last day of the year “as we say ‘sangena 2018’”.

Gospel acts such as Amawele ka Mamtshawe, Betusile Mcinga and Butho and Yolanda Vuthela will be ushering in 2018 in style with their God-inspired music.

Beku said both local and national artists had a few surprises in store.

“It is encouraged that one gets to the venue on time as the lineup is mixed with both local and national artists. The annual countdown is firm on local development, which is why you will see some nationals performing at the beginning of the event and other locals at the peak of the night for the purpose of instilling equality among all artists,” he said.

Gates open at 2pm.

The hosts for the show will be Manaka Ranaka, who plays the role of Lucy on SABC1’s daily drama, Generations: The Legacy, uMhlobo Wenene FM’s Pastor The DJ and Thobani Mseleni.

General tickets for the event cost R200 and VIP tickets are going for R1500. Beku said they had various packages to cater for everyone.

lThe organisers of the show are doing things differently this year and will be giving the public an opportunity to have dinner or lunch with their favourite artist from the lineup, a two-night stay at the East London ICC, and a R5000 BCM electricity voucher.

To win, SMS your ticket number to 33086. The draw for the electricity voucher and dinner/lunch is on December 27 and the draw for the ICC stay is on December 31. SMSes cost R1.50. —
