Thursday’s marathon session to find a new public protector is likely to be taxing for some of the 14 candidates who will be interviewed by a selection committee late into the night.

Dr Makhosi Khoza‚ chairperson of the ad hoc parliamentary committee established to nominate a replacement for advocate Thuli Madonsela‚ said on Wednesday that the rationale behind screening all candidates in a day was to “ensure that candidates do not have unfair advantage over others‚ as these interviews will be broadcast live.”
