If there was ever any doubt about how great Steve Hansen's All Black side is, that notion was laid to rest when the Kiwis equalled the world record of 17 matches without defeat.

Only Nick Mallett's Springbok side and two other All Black teams have ever reached the same milestone.

Other than what looks to be a promising England side coached by Eddie Jones, only Allister Coetzee's men in the green and gold could have provided some sort of challenge in putting a stop to the Kiwis' rampant run.

While many who walked through the King's Park gate expressed their "funny feeling" of an upset in Durban in favour of the Boks, it was not to be.

Some would describe the All Black team as similar to a fine wine that gets better, if anything, Hansen's side has often proven to be a well-oiled machine that gets the engine powering in the latter stages of the game.

While the crowd in the full-to-capacity stadium remained vocal for most part of the first half, the Boks were well within their rights to believe they were very much still in the game despite trailing 9-12 at the halfway break.

The sides were fairly evenly squared in the first half of the game.

It was the Boks who got the scoreboard ticking early, with Morne Steyn looking set to replicate the feat he achieved the last time the two sides faced each othet at the same ground when the flyhalf collected all 31 points in the SA side's 31-19 victory in 2009.

The Boks led the game right up until the 33rd minute when scrumhalf TJ Perenara scored a try, on the back of an opening try which took the All Blacks to a half-time lead of 12-9.

The visitors were the first to get the scoreboard ticking in the second half when winger Dagg scored the his second five-pointer of the game.

It was from this point that the All Blacks put some pressure on the pedals to get the engine going. They did not look back from here as they made the Boks look like an amateur side.

The rampant All Blacks dominated the Boks to a 57-15 victory which became the heaviest defeat the Boks have suffered against the All Blacks at home, surpassing the 16-52 defeat at Loftus in July of 2003.

The All Blacks scored a mammoth nine tries, six of which came in the second half.

The Boks could only muster 15 points from the boot of Morne Steyn.

This was surely not the farewell captain Adriaan Strauss was hoping for in his last game on home soil before he hangs up his international boots at the end of the year. - Tiso Black Star Group Digital/ Tiso Black Star Group Sport
