On track as NEC sorts out appeals

It is unlikely the much-anticipated ANC provincial elective conference will be postponed again after the party’s national executive committee deployees successfully dealt with almost all 97 appeals lodged by branches across the province.

This is according to ANC spokesman in the province Mlibo Qoboshiyane, who at the time of writing yesterday said there were about 2% pending appeals, with NEC deployees having spent the previous weekend dealing with most of the cases.

Qoboshiyane also confirmed that although the appeals emanated from branches for a variety of reasons, the dominant feature was related to the nomination of provincial conference delegates during branch general meetings (BGMs).
