Classes for 1400 pupils at Chumani Primary School had to be cancelled yesterday after 35 of the school’s teachers went on strike to protest against the principal for hiring two deputy principals from outside the school despite four of the school’s teachers applying for the posts.
The angry teachers kept principal Nosipho Maholwana inside the staff room and brought classes to a halt for hiring two seasoned teachers, one from Alphendale and the other from Komga.
