Aspiring writers help grow SABC

THE SABC is giving aspiring screen writers and producers from the East London area the opportunity to learn more about the new programmes it hopes to feature next year at their Request For Proposals (RFP) Roadshow at the Miriam Makeba Centre for Performing Arts tomorrow.

This comes after the release of the 255-page RFP book late last month which invites content ideas that are inspirational, thought-provoking as well as humorous to inform, educate and entertain viewers.

The book contains commissioning briefs for all three SABC channels in all genres, including sitcoms, documentaries, and dramas.

At the roadshow aspiring writers and producers will be briefed on the book and receive closing dates for the submission of proposals.

Writers and producers are encouraged to go through the RFP book found on the SABC’s website, and familiarise themselves with the content requirements in line with the different SABC1, SABC2 and SABC3 channels.

The roadshow moves to Port Elizabeth on November 13.

The briefing starts at 8.30am and ends 12pm. For more information visit www.sabc.co.za
