Mdantsane residents barricaded the Qumza Highway with burning tyres and cement sewerage pipes during a service delivery protest this morning.
The protestors are shack dwellers from Daluxolo informal settlement in NU6.
They are demanding that Buffalo City Metro live up to its promises of building them 88 RDP houses before end of June 2015.
Members of the Mdantsane crime prevention unit and BCM law enforcement officers are on the scene redirecting traffic.
Residents said they will not disperse from the scene until city officials come and address their concerns.
