OPINION: Girls are left with the baby

HOW long have the signs been there? Statistics that place this province among those with the highest number of teenage pregnancies in the country – the Eastern Cape has recorded a staggering 30 000 teen pregnancies in the last five years – are a shocking indictment of a system gone totally wrong – both inside homes and at institutional level. But is this really a surprise?
