Komphela aiming to snatch TKO

Despite not having the best of starts to the 2015/16 season as it was anticipated, Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela believes his team will be out to make amends in an attempt to win the Telkom Knockout next week.

Chiefs will square-off against Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of the Ziwa Mo competition at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Wednesday, December 16.

Amakhosi have already lost the MTN8 Cup final to Ajax Cape Town this season and the 48-year-old mentor hinted that his troops cannot afford to fail in their quest for silverware.

However, the Kroonstad born tactician admits that they have no special plans for the Brazilians but instead they will treat them just like any other opponents.

“We treat each and every game in its own merit, that’s how we do things,” said Komphela.

“We need to all get involved as a team and there are always some aspects which we always want to want to perfect and correct.

“And we have been working on that throughout the season so far.

“And regarding the final its self, we’ll see when we get to the Moses Mabhida stadium what’s going to happen.

“But we are looking forward to the final and all players are looking forward to it.

“We just need to keep the focus and try to get this one (Telkom Knockout crown).

“We can’t be in two cup finals and not get something.”

Kick-off is at 18:00.
