Homeless will get to choose own clothing

East London’s homeless will have the opportunity to browse, pick and fit the clothes and shoes they want as the city hosts its very first Street Store next month.

“The public have an opportunity to choose from perfectly arranged clothes and shoes, much like they would in a store, and they will have the opportunity to try them on to see if they are a perfect fit. We have organised big mirrors so people can see themselves from all angles. We’re going to serve tea and coffee as well. This is really going to be a wonderful shopping experience.

“I’m so humbled by how helpful and encouraging people have been so far and I hope this goes off just as well,” she said.

The Street Store will be held on April 27 from 9am to 2pm. For information on where to donate clothes, or to get involved, please visit the event’s page on: 265826700415446/
