Well-known Xhosa rapper, who achieved his #1stDayGold dream selling more than 20 000 copies on release day, is about to tour the nation.

The Port Elizabeth rapper will launch on May 29 in Johannesburg and from there heads straight to his home province for his first stop.

“When I dream I don’t take my mind off the dream. I didn’t doubt that I would make my dream a reality. I am thankful to all the people who supported me on this campaign,” iFani said.

IFani's second album, I Believes In Me: Second Quadrant is the rapper’s last project with Sony Music.

His deal with the leading recording label has come to an end.

“Our deal was for two albums and they have that now. Everything I am doing now is not under any record label, I am on my own now,” he said.

The South Africa Music Awards (Sama) best rap album winner said his I Believes In Me: Motivational and Entertainment tour would solely depend on sponsorships.

“This is my dream and it will become a reality. Just like the 1stDayGold dream, I know this one is possible too,” he said.

He said the tour would see him spend the whole of June in the Eastern Cape doing shows.

“There has been a lot of negative talk from other people about my tour, but I expect that from people. They have been saying it’s too soon. I just released the album.

“They didn’t believe in me when I said my album would hit gold on its first day and it did,” he said.

The rapper said his tour would consist of performances and motivational talks.

“My first stop in the Eastern Cape will be in Port Elizabeth.

“I will spend a week there visiting schools, radio stations and signing CDs.

“On the weekend we will have a big show for the entire city and then I will move to East London and other towns,” he said.

The former Stumbo Stomp Amapantsula show presenter said he hoped people would be inspired by his tour and start believing in themselves.

“All I want to do now is to share what I have with the people. If someone like me can dream and make it possible, what is stopping them?

“As people we must not just focus on our daily jobs, we must not be afraid to dream. I hope to change peoples’ minds and challenge them to live their lives to their full potential,” iFani said.

iFani will be visiting Mthatha, Grahamstown, Queenstown and East London.

“I will also make stops in smaller towns along the way.” — poliswap@dispatch.co.za
