Tasty treats and drinks on offer at food and wine fair

GOURMETS are in for a treat as the Taste the Good Life Food and Wine Fair kicked off at The Venue@Hemingways and Felix Bar yesterday.

The two-day fair, the first of what is hoped will become an annual event, was organised in partnership with the Daily Dispatch, Checkers and Roundtable East London.

“People should come and experience all of this. The joke of all of this is that I don’t even cook,” she said.

The event also marks Hemingways Casino and Mall’s fourth birthday.

Dispatch marketing manager, Suren Packery encouraged all to come and be part of the action, entertainment and family fun.

“The food and wine fair is a charming, flavour-filled tasting sensation and we would like all East Londoners to come out and share the experience,” he said.

The programme today will include live entertainment from one of South Africa’s top band’s, Prime Circle, as well as the “Yebo Gogo” man, famous for his leopard print underpants, Michael De Pinna.

Member of the Roundtable East London, John Cupido, said he was honoured to be part of the venture. “I am quite excited.

“We are hoping to grow bigger with each passing year,” he said.

“We want the annual food and wine fair to become established in East London and want people to know that each year, this time of the year, it’s the fair.”
