EL set to party up a storm

FROM lumo parties, countdown bashes and the East London shakedown, thousands of locals are expected to turn out tonight to end the year with a bang.

Top local DJs and celebrities are expected to appear at some parties around Buffalo City Metro (BCM).

To end the year on a bright note, Numbers Dance Club in Beacon Bay has gone all out to entertain party people with their lumo party.

Numbers manager Daryn Mildenhall said they were hoping to attract more than 700 people and it would be a “glow in the dark” evening.

“People should come all out and wear or apply lumo paint. There is free entrance before 10pm and afterward it is R60 per person.

“We have a special DJ from Joburg, Craig White, and our local talented DJs including DJ Damage, Loft and Dwayne,” he said.

As part of the festive vibe, additional lighting production will be installed and the party will go on until New Year’s morning.

“For those who need transport, we have all the contact details for cabs because we condemn drinking and driving.

“The numbers will be on our screens but we will be more than happy to call the them on patrons’ behalf,” Mildenhall said.

The East London New Year’s Eve Shakedown at Gonubie Hotel will again feature two dance floors – one for commercial and the other for house music.

To entertain the crowd, Matt Suttner from Johannesburg will be accompanied by Tony H and Rhett Pendock to entertain the crowds.

Entry will be R50 before 11pm and R70 after.

Celebrity Sisa Hewana, well known for his acting role on SABC’s Isidingo, will be partying up a storm at the Mngqesha Great Place near Dimbaza with an estimated 1500-strong crowd attending The Finale party from noon today.

Organiser Tabisa Mtengwana said: “We also have DJ Minty from TruFM and she will be supported by DJ Aquiler and Monde from Port Elizabeth.

R100 gets you in and from that you get R50 voucher to buy with inside. Cooler boxes will be accommodated until 8pm and a cash bar will be available.”

Mdantsane’s entertainment companies have gone all out this year by collaborating and will be hosting a massive party at Amalinda’s Vision Ground BnB.

Ruff Entertainment and Loudnoise Entertainment have lined up 10 DJs to spin the decks from noon until tomorrow morning.

Also R50 will get you to the Isiqalo New Year’s Eve party where party lovers will be entertained by Blomzit Avenue, Nko, Ligwa and many others.

Leading tshisanyamas in Mdantsane and King William’s Town, Man’s pub and braai, also expect large numbers.

“There will be braai and specials. SAB has a competition in King where people can win a Samsung tablet tonight,” said owner Mbulelo Nkqayi.

On that special note, those who will be going to Incognito Lounge can expect a free drinks special worth R20000. — mamelag@dispatch.co.za
