Cancer survivor inspires youth

Wildeman partners with TV star to uplift community

EIGHT years ago East London businessman William Wildeman was told he only had a 10% chance of survival after he was diagnosed with stomach cancer.

Today, the father of two boys is cancer-free, runs his own financial broker business and is involved in community projects to uplift youth from impoverished backgrounds. Speaking to the Saturday Dispatch this week, Wildeman described chemotherapy and radiation as the hardest period of his life.

Schools that have benefited from the programme in the past two years are John Bisseker Secondary, Greenpoint Secondary, Parkside Primary and Pefferville in East London and Arcadia Primary and Arcadia Secondary School in Port Elizabeth.
