Forbes Grant Senior Secondary School in Ginsberg is again under attack from the community.
According to teacher Sikhumbuzo Mashwanyela, also on the committee, the lack of fencing makes access to the school grounds easier.
“The fence does not go around the entire perimeter of the school, it has been vandalised.
“We also have no security at the gate, something we have been fighting for with the department for years,” Mashwanyela said, adding that this situation left them vulnerable.
Teacher representative on the school governing body, Thanta-
swa Gcinishe, said their appeals for assistance from the education department had so far fallen on deaf ears. “We have written numerous letters and held meetings but nothing positive has come of it so far,” she said.
