Parlotones back to rock city

Multi award-winning and platinum selling rock band, The Parlotones, are back in East London next week to promote their new album.

Lead vocalist Khan Morbee yesterday said East London was one of their favourite cities and they were excited about getting to share their latest offering with their fans.

“East London is always a city we try and bring our music to and for a few years we were playing everywhere around except East London, so with the release of our latest album, Antiques & Artefacts, we were adamant that we were bringing the tour to East London for definite,” said Morbee.

He said they have been to the city on numerous occasions dating back as far as 2005.

“We used to play at The Deck in Gonubie on our annual December Summer Tour and to be quite honest, it was always one of our highlights on the tour calendar. We have also performed at Numbers, to name a few,” he said.

The band, which burst onto the music scene in 2003, has nine albums under their belt and have won numerous international and national awards including over seven South African Music Awards (Samas).

Morbee contributed their staying power to their fans and passion for their work.

“We just love writing music and thankfully the fans have enjoyed what we do. We are just super chuffed that we have been able to do what we love for as long as we have,” said Morbee. The Antiques & Artefacts tour will also be heading to Port Elizabeth and Bloemfontein.
