IFani takes on e.tv’s ‘Reality Check’ to do good for charity

Eastern Cape rapper iFani’s star continues to rise. Earlier this year he achieved a 1stDayGold award for his latest album which sold 20000 in a day while it was recently announced he will feature on e.tv’s Reality Check show.

The entertaining reality series documents the journey of three famous local celebrities as they take a break from their glamorous lives in the spotlight to get down and dirty for the benefit of charity.

Their mission is to do good deeds in communities that are often forgotten. The award-winning rapper will be joined by Kelly Khumalo and Chomee.

The three celebrities will start shooting in Johannesburg today. Each episode involves the three celebrities working with a different charity.

One of the objectives of the show is to give the celebrities a “reality check” by getting them to contribute to their communities and local charities.

The show allows viewers to bridge an understanding between socio-economic and cultural values through real interactions with the local communities.

IFani said he was approached by the producers of the show after releasing his latest album, I Believes in Me: 2nd Quadrant.

“When they first approached me I wasn’t sure about this reality show, this wasn’t something that I thought about.

“I had a dream of going gold on the first day and that made them want to work with me. I did not only have a dream but I worked to get what I wanted,” he said.

The Port Elizabeth rapper said he was looking forward to bringing cheer and hope to the different charities.

“What I like about this show is that we don’t have to act, there are no scripts. The person that I am will come out and I hope I will inspire people to dream,” he said.

IFani said they would be shooting between June and July.

He said that he had to put his Eastern Cape tour on hold.

He added that he would be performing in East London on June 12.
