An East London Grade 1 pupil who was on her way to school this morning was left hit and killed by a scholar transport vehicle.
Seven-year-old Indiphile Hibana from Thembalethu, in Reeston, was hit by a navy ford bakkie as described by residents. She was trying to make her way to a pick-up point where pupils were collected by a bus at 7am.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver hit the girl and drove off without stopping.
Police are looking for the suspect who was driving the bakkie and carrying other school children.
