There are just a few days to go before Daily Dispatch newsroom staff hit some of East London’s most popular coffee shops to meet readers over a cup of tea or coffee.

Members of the editorial team of the city’s favourite read since 1872, are again participating in the Café Newsroom initiative this Saturday morning between 9am and 11am in a bid to pick up story leads from members of the communities that make up our readership.

Editor Bongani Siqoko and his team is looking forward to hearing about extraordinary people so that everyone’s favourite daily can highlight these individuals.

Readers who would like to enjoy a cuppa with the Dispatch are most welcome to come to the following coffee shops on Saturday between 9am and 11am:

Gonubie: Gonubie Hotel – chief reporter Mike Loewe and crime reporter Zwanga Mukhuthu;

Northend: Stadium clubhouse – sports editor Dominic Peel and photographic editor Alan Eason;

Beacon Bay: Pine Creek – news editor Cheri-Ann James and senior metro reporter Barbara Hollands;

Nahoon: Sprouts – metro news editor Andrew Stone and metro reporter Zipo-Zenkosi Ncokazi;

Vincent: Toast Deli – chief sub-editor Mike Chandler and metro reporter Zisanda Nkonkobe;

East Coast Resorts: The Village Centre Crossways, Blue Goose Cafe, deputy editor Brett Horner. — barbarah@dispatch.co.za
