Dispatch editor to meet NU13 residents this weekend

As the award-winning Daily Dispatch takes another Café Newsroom session to East Londoners this weekend, Mdantsane residents can look forward to sharing a cuppa at a new venue with editor Bongani Siqoko.

A first of its kind for Mdantsane residents, this Saturday’s Café Newsroom session will be hosted at the Mdantsane SuperSpar in Golden Highway near NU13.

This will give readers from Mdantsane a chance to enjoy a cuppa with Siqoko, who will be q joined by Metro Desk reporter Zipo-Zenkosi Ncokazi, while he listens to their stories. These may include grievances, gripes, concerns or positive issues.

Dispatch deputy editor Brett Horner will be at the East Coast Resorts’ Village Centre Crossways: at Blue Goose Café.

Siqoko said: “Reader engagement is one of the main challenges currently facing newspapers. Our coffee sessions are part of a broader reader engagement strategy. It is an effort we make to understand our readers better.”
