Fun ways to get into summer holiday season groove

The holidays are here and below is a list of all the fun ways to kill the time.

Buyel’ekhaya festival

THE seventh annual Buyel’ekhaya Festival will be held on Sunday at the Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium from midday to 5am. Tickets are R200 plus R50 for cooler boxes available from Computicket. Acts lined up include Zahara and Thandiswa Mazwai.

Wildkei Music

THE sixth edition of the eve-growing Wildkei Music Festival gets underway at Bayview Farm just outside of Kei Mouth tomorrow and Saturday. Tickets are available from Lee Gold Music and at Computicket for R140 or you can get tickets at the door for R180.

Beatles tribute

CENTRESTAGE pays tribute to the fabulous four with their latest show, The Beatles – Forever Fab, at the Guild Theatre. Tickets R140 at Computicket. Show starts at 7.30pm.

Stoane and Euphonik

BUCCANEERS pub and grub will be hosting Bongo Maffin’s Stoane Seate and 5fm’s DJ Euphonik this Saturday. Tickets cost R100.

Fashion show

THE East London Fashion Walk will be held at The Venue @Hemingways from 7pm this Friday. This fashion will serve as a platform to Eastern Cape fashion designers. There will also be stalls from 4.30pm and the main event (fashion show) will start at 7pm.

Summer retreat

THE first annual Summer Retreat will be held at Barmuda Cocktails in Port Alfred this Saturday. Event starts at 1pm. Tickets R150 pre-sold and R180 at the door.

Music in the trees

MUSIC in the Trees Music Festival at Tea in the Trees starting from 5pm. Tickets R100, children R25.

Queer Summer Fiesta

THE Queer Summer Fiesta will be held at the Buffalo City Stadium from 5pm today. The event seeks to celebrate the diversity within the LGBTI community, but also welcomes heterosexual individuals. Entrance fee ranges from R80 to R390 from Computicket.

Fun at Pulse

CATCH DJ Fresh and DJ Euphonik Live at Pulse Nite Club, 5 Lambart Road, in Arcadia, from 8pm tonight. Entrance fee R120 before 10pm and R150 thereafter, Presale tickets are R100 with VIP tickets R300. This includes a free pack beer or cider.
