Twelve judges appointed by Zuma

President Jacob Zuma Made a string of judicial appointments on Thursday.

The 12 appointments‚ on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission‚ were made to the High Courts of the Eastern Cape‚ Northern Cape‚ North and South Gauteng‚ and the Labour Court.

The following were appointed judges:

- The Honourable Mr Justice Zamani Mswazi Nhlangulela as Deputy Judge President of the Eastern Cape Local Division of the High Court‚ Mthatha with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy;

- Ms Nombulawo Martha Mbhele as Judge of the Free State Division of the High Court‚ Bloemfontein‚ with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy;

- Advocate Celeste Reinders as Judge of the Free State Division of the High Court‚ Bloemfontein‚ with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy;

- The Honourable Madam Justice Annali Christelle Basson from the Labour Court‚ as Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court‚ (Pretoria)‚ with effect from 1 January 2015 in an existing vacancy;

- Ms Nelisa Phiwokazi Mali as Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court‚ (Pretoria)‚ with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy;

- Advocate Raylene May Keightley as Judge of the Gauteng Local Division of the High Court‚ (Johannesburg)‚ with effect from 1January 2016 in an existing vacancy;

- Ms Lebogang Temperance Modiba as Judge of the Gauteng Local Division of the High Court‚ (Johannesburg)‚ with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy; and

- Mr Thifhelimbu Phanuel Mudau as Judge of the Gauteng Local Division of the High Court‚ (Johannesburg)‚ with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy;

- Advocate Willem Hendrik Gabriel van der Linde SC as Judge of the Gauteng Local Division of the High Court‚(Johannesburg)‚ with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy; and

- Ms Mpho Catherine Mamosebo‚ Magistrate of Pretoria and Atteridgeville as Judge of the Northern Cape Division of the High Court‚ Kimberley‚ with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy.

Two further appointments were made to the Labour Court:

- Advocate Christina Prinsloo as Judge of the Labour Court‚ with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy; and

- Mr Edwin Tshidiso Tlhotlhalemaje as Judge of the Labour Court‚ with effect from 1 January 2016 in an existing vacancy.
