Local theatre fans are in for something different this week – Ginsberg-born writer and director Mhlanguli George’s backyard production Is He Mad?“Theatre in the backyard” uses an actual backyard as a stage.
Is He Mad? is his second backyard production. His first, Fourth Person in the Yard, was staged in Cape Town and dealt with secrets and poverty.
George, a dance lecturer at the University of Cape Town, is in the process of introducing a new module called African dance performance technique.
Is He Mad? starts at 1pm and 5pm at number 678 Mbeki/Nyamakazi Street, Ginsberg Location, King William’s Town today and tomorrow. Entrance is R20. — ziphon@dispatch.co.za
