Generations odd couple Nicholas Nomvete and Zodwa have been reunited in the new telenovela Greed and Desire that runs on Mzansi Magic from April 4.

Nicholas, who was portrayed by Thato Molamu and Zodwa by Xoli Zondi, are now siblings.

Zondi said she was excited to be reunited with Molamu and the other Generations actors like Thami Mngqolo.

"It's great to work with people you know well. With Thato, this time it is different because he is my half brother," she said.

Zondi plays Nqobile, a young entrepreneur with a budding B&B business who lives with her mother in Matatiele.

Another couple that has been reunited is Safta winner Nthati Moshesh and Sello Sebotsana, who are currently acting in Saints and Sinners, also on Mzansi Magic.

In the drama series Sebotsana and Moshesh are estranged.

Greed and Desire explores the themes of ambition, wealth, power, secrets and desire in Bloemfontein.

Head of publicity at Mzansi Magic Nondumiso Mabece, said the show was set apart by the manner in which the story is told.

"All stories are told and treated differently. Viewers will like how the story is structured, the twists in the story and the portraying of the characters," she said.

The plot of the story is about a tragic journey of the prominent Makhetha family. A series of events are set in motion when the patriarch of the family is killed in a fit of rage.

The murder becomes the root of a dreadful secret that sees the family empire falling in the wrong hands.

In the process, lives are ruined when the family learns the truth about who killed the head of the house, as the fate of the empire that was built from nothing to an established jewel is at stake.

Nkateko Mabaso, local entertainment channels director at M-Net, added: "We welcome Greed and Desire and its stellar cast to the Mzansi Magic family; we will keep developing new and exciting programmes to keep viewers glued to their screens."
