Beyoncé showcases South African designer to the world

When it comes to South African designers‚ it seems US superstar‚ Beyoncé‚ has a favourite.

The Formation singer visited the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City with her family last week‚ and shared highlights from their trip on her official website

Among some of the designs she showcased thousands of followers on her blog were designs from South African artists Laduma Ngxokolo‚ who is known for his Xhosa-inspired knitwear.

Beyoncé was obviously impressed by the collection and the African-inspired pieces on show‚ even taking pictures of herself with a group of woman dressed in traditional African clothing.

The international award-winning Laduma‚ who hails from East London‚ has impressed fashionistas all over the world with his designs.

Most recently‚ the designer won the Vogue Italia Scouting for Africa prize in Milan‚ Italy last year.

His Maxhosa by Laduma collection will be displayed at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum until August 12.
