Voter registration weekend in numbers: E Cape reaches target

More than 3 million South Africans over the weekend visited registration station across the country to register to vote for the up-coming local government elections.

Of the 3.5 million people registering to vote over the weekend, just more than 1.1 million are from KwaZulu Natal. The province registered the most eligible voters. In terms of voter turnout and results the Eastern Cape province is third after KZN and Gauteng.
