TWO prominent ANC politicians, who are OR Tambo district municipal councillors, have been arrested for murder.
The arrests took place at the municipality’s Myezo offices in Mthatha yesterday.
The two could face charges of murder and attempted murder after the bodyguard of ANC regional chairman Xolile Nkompela was killed last year in a hail of bullets.
Nkompela said the murder was an attempt on his life as he had received threats soon after winning the regional elective conference by one vote.
Their arrests follow another of a Mhlontlo councillor who has since appeared in the Tsolo magistrate’s court.
