#FeesMustFall activist condemns burning of schools

#FeesMustFall student activist Mcebo Dlamini says the burning of schools is counter-revolutionary.

The controversial leader wrote on his Facebook page that students who torch schools in protest are setting themselves back.

’’I’ve been thinking of the misguided strikes at Vuwani‚ UJ‚ Vaal and Fort Hare…If it is having a guide ideology behind these protests (Vuwani/Uj/Vaal/Fort Hare) it cannot be Black Consciousness‚” he said.

Universities around the country have been hit by storm of violent protests by students. The University of Fort Hare was the latest affected after students burnt a marquee and the entrance of their Alice campus on Thursday ahead of centenary celebrations at the university which were attended by President Jacob Zuma and alumni Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe.

The University of Johannesburg’s Sanlam auditorium was burnt to the ground on Monday night while 26 schools in Vuwani‚ Limpopo were torched last week.

Dlamini added that: ‘’When the ?#?feesmustfall embarked on the revolutionary protest along South African universities it was rigid of their demand which was free education and insourcing of the workers.”

He warned against a trend of a bad habit of activism‚ saying “burning schools without any informed ideology undermines the dignity of a black child”.
