Selfies, hugs and congratulatory messages became the order of the day.

Fresh from his impressive international title defence in Liverpool,  Tete sat down for a quick interview with the DispatchLIVE. He defeated Mexican Victor Ruiz after knocking him out in the seventh round in front of a huge crowd.

Tete was grateful for the support he received from his English fans and partly attributed his success to  his growing fan-base in London.  “The support I got this time was amazing, I felt like I was fighting in East London while I was actually fighting in London.”

Tete is enjoying increasing popularity with the English fans and press, especially after victories against English boxer Paul Butler and Jose Santos Gonzalez. Both fights were also staged in Liverpool.

He revealed to DispatchLIVE that he would like a world title fight.

According to Tete, plans are already under way from his management team to get him a world title shot.
