Snow, wet weather closing in

Snow and rain are approaching the Eastern Cape and are expected to hit this weekend.

SA Weather forecaster Garth Sampson said they were watching the weather models and would have a more accurate idea by midday today.

A cut-off low and other weather systems were approaching.

However, he said: “Next week will start with some cold, wet weather, with some good falls in places, especially along the Wild Coast.

“This will be a welcome relief to our dams and farmers as the first half of winter has not yielded much rain.

“There will be a chill in the air with some snow expected over the high ground.

“This should start clearing later on Wednesday,” he said.

He urged the public to keep an eye out for tomorrow’s full forecast on the SA Weather Service’s website and Facebook page.
