Sewerage scheme for metro

A multimillion-rand regional bulk sewerage scheme to serve Bhisho and King William’s Town will be launched by Buffalo City Metro’s outgoing mayor Alfred Mtsi today.

The infrastructure, part of an overall R1.4-billion to be spent on sewers and treatment plants across BCM, is a bid to unlock bottlenecks in the development of housing and other facilities in the region.

In total, the Bhisho-King scheme will cost R405-million but the work is being carried out in numerous phases.
