Mabala Noise chairman Reggie Nkabinde has blasted EFF leader Julius Malema‚ rubbishing comments the politician made about his company on Friday.

Malema took aim at Nkabinde during a live press conference held at the IEC results centre on Friday afternoon‚ accusing the entertainment boss of being involved in ‘dodgy’ tender processes and of paying his artists R5 million each.

The Mabala Noise big wig called an urgent press conference in Johannesburg on Monday morning where he came out guns blazing.

Nkibande told members of the media that the claims made by Malema are a “complete lie.”

“I’m not going to dwell too much on what has been said. The myth that has been created about Mabala Noise is incorrect and it is totally a lie‚” he said.

Nkibande said that his company was still consulting with its legal team about the way forward.

“It’s a joke that we have R110 million to pay the 22 artists in Mabala Noise R5 million each.”

Nkibande explained that he wants Malema to retract his statements.

“The day we take him to task he must be able to prove his statements for now anyone who wants proof must go ask Julius. We want the EFF leader to retract his statements.”

Setting the record straight on Malema’s claim that he has a ‘dodgy’ relationship with Minister of Water Affairs and Sanitation Nomvula Mokonyane‚ Nkibande claims that he has no business dealings with government.

“We are not going to let anyone insult African companies. I am a businessman and Mabala Noise is an independent company. There is no way to we can channel money from the ANC Youth League to Mabala Noise.”

Nkibande denied that he benefits from government tenders through his relationship with Minister Mokonyane.

“My relationship with mama Nomvula is simple‚ it’s a relationship of a mother and son. She is my political mentor and has helped in moulding the person I am.”

Nkibande went onto to add that the artists in his stable are unshaken by the claims and that they will continue to focus on making music.

The businessman further stated that when Malema is taken to task‚ he must provide proof to back up his statements.

“Malema has statements and knows Mabala Noise’ bank balance so he must provide proof to everyone.”
