Dalindyebo’s wife dies after illness

One of King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo’s wives has died after a short illness.

The kingdom of AbaThembu said Queen Nolitha Dalindyebo died on Wednesday.

Queen Nolitha is the second of the king’s wives to die in the past six years.

Queen Nolwazi Dalindyebo died in 2011 and his mother Queen NoMoscow Dalindyebo died the following year.

Queen Nolitha was born of the Tshawe royal clan from Qhumanco near Cofimvaba.

At the time of her death the queen had been working at Mthatha Private Hospital.

The king is now left with three wives – Nocollege, Noluntu and Nokwanda.

Spokesman Chief Daludumo Mtirara said the queen left the royal residence to return to her family a few years ago due to internal family issues not able to be dealt with effectively at the time.

By yesterday it was not clear if the king had received the news of his wife’s death, but one of the AmaDlomo elders, Chief Thandisizwe Mtirara, said he had sent a delegation led by the king’s brother Patrick Dalindyebo to inform the monarch about the queen’s death. — lulamilef@dispatch.co.za
