‘Change has come to Nelson Mandela Bay‚’ PE mayor-to-be Trollip

Winds of change will blow through Nelson Mandela Bay when a new coalition government‚ with the Dempocratic Alliance’s (DA) Athol Trollip as the new mayor‚ takes over City Hall on Thursday.

The Herald (www.heraldlive.co.za) reported that the United Democtratic Movement’s Mongameli Bobani was expected to be sworn in as Trollip’s deputy at a historic council meeting that would see the African National Congress (ANC) in the opposition benches for the first time since the dawn of democracy.

It remains to be seen which portfolios will be filled by the African Chrsitain Democratic Party and the Congress of the People.

Trollip said a multiparty government would be officially elected on Thursday.

“Change has come to Nelson Mandela Bay‚” he said.
