Second man in WSU attack dies in hospital

A second man in the Walter Sisulu university student attack has died, the health department said. 

Spokesman Siyanda Manana said the man died at about 12pm today.

“One is still very critical in hospital,” he said.

The men were attacked allegedly by Nelson Mandela Drive campus students on Friday night after allegedly being found with stolen items.

A third man who was attacked died on the scene while the two were rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

Police spokeswomen Dineo Koena said no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.

“We are still investigating the matter,” she said.
