A 19-year-old Cape Town man appeared in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on Thursday in connection with the death of 31-year-old Nopinki Sifuba.
Sifuba’s body was found in a public toilet in Khayelitsha on Monday.
“It is believed that the deceased was murdered at her residence in Site C‚ Khayelitsha‚ and her body was later moved to the public toilets‚” said police spokesman Captain FC Van Wyk.
The case was postponed to January 5 when Sibongile Nondyolo is expected to apply for bail.
“These incidents are deplorable in the light of the on-going 16 Days Campaign Against Violence on Women and Children and are taken seriously by police management‚” said Van Wyk earlier in the week.
