10 SAPS staff charged with Mandela fraud

Ten police administrative clerks and a King William’s Town businessman appeared in the Zwelitsha Magistrate’s Court yesterday on charges of fraud, corruption and moneylaundering linked to the funeral of late state president Nelson Mandela.

The accused are supply chain department employees based at police headquarters in Zwelitsha.

They are accused of colluding with a businessman in a bogus procurement of office furniture ahead of Mandela’s funeral late in 2013.
