Mancosa matric winter classes begin

A private higher education institution, Management College of Southern Africa (Mancosa) in Vincent Park, East London, held its first matric winter classes this week, where pupils from schools in the area were taken out of the school environment for a week of revision and studying to help prepare for exams.

The institution is providing free classes in mathematics and accounting. School marketer Quinton Smith said they had earlier this year approached schools closer to their campus and invited them to the winter classes.

The institution said it was planning on conducting more extra classes during the year and hoped to help out more schools.

Mancosa hopes that the extra classes will also help to improve the Eastern Cape’s matric pass rate.

“Since these are our first ever classes in our East London satellite campus, we approached schools that are closer to the institution for easier access and to keep costs low for pupils.
