Drug accused gets R30 000 bail

An East London couple allegedly caught with cocaine and tik valued at R1.5-million have been granted R30 000 bail each in the East London Magistrate's Court.

The couple - James Madueme and his girlfriend Balisa Nyanga - were allegedly caught last Wednesday in the Amalinda property where they live with their two-year-old daughter with the drugs.

Part of the bail conditions were that the couple hand over their passports to police, be at home every day between 8pm and 6pm, report to the East London police station every Wednesday between 6am and 6pm and that they don't leave East London and Mdantsane Magistrate's Districts without informing the police.

Their case was postponed to September 1 for further investigation.
