Fort Hare in push to end unrest

In an attempt to normalise the situation at its East London campus, the University of Fort Hare has obtained a court interdict against 16 individuals and organisations it believes to be behind the disruption of classes.

Walter Sisulu University (WSU) has also closed down its two learning sites at Mthatha campus (Nelson Mandela Drive) and Zamukulungisa following student protests and has instructed students to vacate the campus and all residences.

WSU’s Ibika campus closed last week. The UFH interdict lists 16 respondents, including the SRC, the Students’ Nursing Sciences Council, and nurses’ union Denosa.
