Ex-miners too poor to visit offices

Many former mineworkers who appear on the list of 4000 miners who are owed money by a number of provident funds, are too poor to visit their nearest Teba offices to claim their money.

This was revealed by many who had made it to the more than 10 offices in the province.

A Saturday Dispatch team visited the Butterworth, Mthatha, Mount Fletcher, Lusikisiki and Flagstaff offices this week.

Speaking to the Dispatch, Teba’s Eastern Cape head Sam Moeletsi said there was a good response from the people after the newspaper’s report last week.

“There is a good response which justifies our very reason why we came to Dispatch for assistance and this is highly appreciated.
